Venus in Fur – David Ives

In this unforgettable psycho/sexual, comedy, award winning director, Stephen Bell invites the audience to dive into David Ives’ mesmerizing play and explore themes of power and authority with the fast-paced, surprising wit and sly language Ives is known for. As the lines betwixt reality and role-play become blurred in Venus in Fur, the question of “who’s on top” always has a different answer.

From Valley Forge to Fake News, yea verily from Manifest Destiny to Mar-A-Lago, from Alexander Hamilton the patriot to Hamilton the musical, the three cultural guerillas of the Marshall Paddon’s Super Secret Syndicate take you on a ninety-minute rollercoaster ride through the glorious quagmire that is American history.

And the presidential front-runners may just make a surprise appearance to answer any audience questions: Who really discovered America or was it already here? Who is Gerry and why does he mander? If pro is the opposite of con, then is progress the opposite of congress?

Sit down and strap in for 600 years of American history in a smart/silly/sassy 6000 seconds!

A Lighter Shade of Noir – Michael Cote

A Lighter Shade of Noir, is an evening of 8 short plays celebrating the noir genre of theatre, some dark, some light, with characters ranging from classic hard bitten detectives and femme fatales, to some of your favorite fairy tale characters in a darkly comic setting, to a few other surprise guests, these stylish pieces are sure to entertain.

 

 

Meteor Shower – Steve Martin

April 17th – May 4th, 2025

Corky and Norm are excited to host Gerald and Laura at their home in the valley outside Los Angeles to watch a once-in-a-lifetime meteor shower. But as the stars come out and the conversation gets rolling, it becomes clear that Gerald and Laura might not be all that they appear to be. Over the course of a crazy, starlit dinner party, the wildly unexpected occurs. The couples begin to flirt and insanity reigns. Martin, using his trademark absurdist humor, bends the fluid nature of time and reality to create a surprising and unforgettably funny new play.

 

 

The Merry Wives of Windsor

Imagine if John Cleese, William Shakespeare and Norman Lear had collaborated on a play and released it in 1980 as a sitcom. You would get TheatreFor’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, a new, original adaptation by Dee O’Brien of Shakespeare’s classic farce.
