At TheatreFor, we are committed to telling truthful stories by uplifting voices that have been overlooked, misrepresented, or excluded. We strive to create a creative community — onstage, backstage, and in leadership — that reflects the richness of the world around us.
We actively work against bias, challenge outdated narratives, and build practices rooted in equity, empowerment, and fairness. Through continual learning and inclusive collaboration, we aim to create theatre that is honest, courageous, and deeply shared.

War Virgin: Meet the Cast

Hannah Martin (Narrator/Grown Up Laura)
Hannah Martin has been sharing her love of the arts for over a decade, teaching theater, dance, singing, stagecraft, guitar, piano, and ukulele. Her favorite performance credits include Nora in A Doll’s House, Young Lucius in Titus Andronicus, and Ellen in the University of South Florida’s original devised work, Ravens. She extends heartfelt thanks to the teachers, directors, castmates, and friends who have supported and inspired her to pursue her dreams.

Melía Lorenz (Young Laura)
Melía Lorenz is thrilled to be back to the TheatreFor stage! After years of traveling the globe as a Production Manager for Norwegian Cruise Line (and successfully avoiding sea monsters), she traded the ocean for the Tampa Bay humidity. Since moving, she’s been seen working with Jobsite, Tampa Rep, Dunedin Showcase Theatre, and of course TheatreFor. Whether she’s behind the scenes or center stage, Melía is just happy to be creating with such brilliant people. She’d like to thank her amazing husband, Jeffrey, for being her biggest fan and supporter, her puppy Zumi for the late-night welcome home kisses, and her cat, Pablo, for allowing her to leave the house to do this.

Graham Muir (Father/Commander)
Graham Muir is pleased to be returning to the stage in TheatreFor's production of War Virgin. An actor with a strong love for live theatre, he is especially drawn to roles that demand precision timing, presence, and a deep connection with the audience. He enjoys the energy of ensemble work and the unique immediacy that only the stage can offer.
Graham has performed in a variety of character-driven and comedic roles, embracing everything from quick-paced farce to more grounded, dramatic storytelling. He values creative rehearsal, thoughtful text work, and the collaborative spirit that brings a production fully to life.
He thanks the cast and creative team for their generosity, and you, the audience, for continuing to support live theatre, and of course, his wonderful wife, Grace, without whose support none of the above would be possible.

Rodney Louima (Cadet in the Red Sash/War Buddy Ricardo)
Rodney Louima is an improviser and performer based in St. Petersburg, Florida. He’s been doing improv for over a year and is known for his grounded, emotionally-driven style and strong stage presence. Outside of performing, he enjoys basketball and singing. War Virgin is his second theatre production, and he’s excited to keep growing as a performer and bring his instincts and energy to the show.

Jason Hooihan (Preacher)
Jason Hooihan is very excited to be returning to TheatreFor after performing in the inaugural show here, Academia Nuts. He just recently performed here as Sir John Falstaff in the Merry Wives of Windsor and multiple characters in the recent holiday show and multiple characters (AGAIN!) in Something Fishy and Roger in TheatreFor’s most recent show, You May Have 6.

James Myers (Boyfriend/Iraqi Teenager)
James Myers (Iraqi Teenager) is thrilled for his first performance at TheatreFor. He has previously done shows at the Dunedin Community Theater as well as performing improv at The Spitfire Comedy House and The Commodore. When not acting like a dork he loves filmmaking, photography, and physical training.

TJ Howsare (Drag Queen: Colonel Von Chain-e-Bush)
TJ Howsare is ecstatic to be back on the TheatreFor stage. You may remember TJ from their performance as Cheryl in Evil Dead The Musical-Stgeworks, Basil in The Picture of Dorian Grey-TheatreFor, or as one of The Angels in Kinky Boots-Eight O’Clock Theatre. As a Florida native, TJ feels proud to help bring a local writer's work to the stage with such a talented cast of local artists.

Susan Dearden (Mother - Phyllis)
Susan Dearden is so excited to be in War Virgin, especialy after seeing it on tour 10 years ago when Mike was in it! Thanks also to Laura for writing it. She does such a great job of putting humor into some of these serious situations! Susan has been in over 100 plays all over Pinellas & some in Tampa. It's a great cast & crew!

Thanks so much to the audience. Please come so we can do more shows for you!
